National Unscheduled Care Programme
The National Unscheduled Care Programme works with Health Boards and Partnerships to provide improvements in the delivery of safe, timely and effective unscheduled care across NHS Scotland.
The Unscheduled Care team work with a broad range of stakeholders to define and agree to the best models and practices, whilst facilitating learning and sustainability.
The model for change focuses on reducing variations by creating consistency, agreeing national standards for Boards to adopt in their improvement plans and facilitating learning and sharing across NHS Scotland. The National Improvement Advisory team have established processes to support and oversee the creation and delivery of local improvement plans.
The Unscheduled Care Team works with Boards to create and put into action improvement plans based on evidence. These plans focus on the best productive opportunities in each system, considering their specific situations and challenges, across all areas of care.
